According to the latest info from the FCC, the Galaxy Nexus is on track to be released on Sprint’s network in the near future. The new device (model number Samsung SPH-L700) sports LTE band 25, which is the 1900MHz frequency Sprint has chosen to use for their next-gen mobile network. This means it’s essentially a “4G” model, if you believe Sprint’s marketing. Continue reading “Galaxy Nexus Coming to Sprint” »
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has just appeared on Amazon Wireless, starting from $199. Looks like there’s going to be insane demand, so better get your order in quick if you want to get the device early. Free two-day shipping included.
Yet another sign has appeared that Verizon will soon be selling the Galaxy Nexus. Puppa at AndroidForums noticed that Verizon has started listing accessories for the Galaxy Nexus on their official website. At present there’s only one item available – a portable powerpack – but there’s sure to be more devices available soon. Check out the VZW accessories page to see for yourself, and check back here for more info on the Galaxy Nexus availability when it’s announced!
We’ve heard reports previously that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus would be released on November 10th. These reports seemed a little optimistic, after word came that Clove will be releasing the device November 17th. Now it seems that U.S. based customers will have to wait even longer – possibly until after Black Friday.
Droid-Life managed to pick up an advertising schedule for Verizon. According to the screenshot, the big advertising push for Samsung’s “Holiday Portfolio” (including the Galaxy Nexus) will begin immediately after Black Friday. This tends to indicate the smartphone will be released more than a week after it’s available in European stores.
Of course, it’s possible that Verizon will start selling the device (at least pre-orders) before Black Friday. This is just a preview of when the big marketing push will begin. But for those hungry Android users out there, it looks like your best bet of getting a Galaxy Nexus early would be to order online from Europe (such as from Clove in the U.K.)

The screenshot (of an internal Verizon document) also gives an indicative price of USD $299.99, which seems in line with previous rumours.
Samsung U.S.A. has launched a website where you can sign up to be notified when the Galaxy Nexus is available for your region. According to the list on their website, it’s likely that the Galaxy Nexus will be coming to all the major carriers, including:
- Cellular South
- Metro PCS
- U.S. Cellular
Of course, just because these carriers are listed on the website, it doesn’t mean they’ll all be getting the handset this November. Leaks have indicated that Verizon may get early exclusivity, with a release on November 10.
