This is a pretty good price, considering the high-end specifications of the device. Expect to see the price drop over first & second quarter 2012, as a new round of Android phones hit the ground. Galaxy Nexus Official Announcement

Today, Samsung and Google officially announced the Galaxy Nexus smartphone. The event was broadcast live on YouTube from Hong Kong.

Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone to run Android 4.0, codenamed “Ice Cream Sandwich”. This is a major leap forward for Android, as it unifies the smartphone and tablet development lines, to form a single codebase for devices going forward. It’s a state-of-the-art mobile operating system, with plenty of goodies for regulars and power users alike.
